Pay £13 an hour
Responsible to: School Cook/Chef/Manager
Purpose of the Job: To assist in the preparation and serving of food in the school kitchen in readiness for lunchtime as directed by the School Cook.
Key roles:
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food.
Follow food hygiene and cleanliness guidelines in the kitchen, adhering to health and safety, food hygiene, and COSHH regulations at all times.
Operate kitchen equipment as required, following proper training.
Undertake cleaning and washing up tasks as directed in the kitchen.
Perform any other duties required by the School Cook/Chef
Criteria:
Qualifications: Food hygiene certificate.
Experience: Relevant experience of working with food in a kitchen environment.
Safeguarding: An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
Driving: Own transportrequired to travel to schools across the Trust. (You can select the areas that you would be willing to cover.)
Skills and Abilities: Ability to use kitchen equipment (e.g. knives for food preparation).
Ability to exchange information with other catering staff.
Interaction with pupils to ascertain their needs.
Responsible for the safekeeping, cleanliness, and proper use of equipment, supplies, and consumables.
Assembly/disassembly of equipment used by others.
Knowledge: Familiarity with procedures and equipment for preparing, serving, and assisting with cooking food
Awareness of relevant hygiene requirements and allergies
When undertaking this role, you would be working for Reed and would be paid weekly for the hours worked.
